GENERAL DUTIES
- Support the Chef de Partie in preparing and cooking authentic Asian dishes to the highest standards.
- Assist in running an assigned section of the kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Execute recipes with precision, consistency, and attention to presentation.
- Prepare mise en place and maintain readiness for service periods.
- Monitor stock levels for your section, minimizing waste and ensuring freshness of ingredients.
- Uphold hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards at all times.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a professional, motivated, and efficient kitchen environment.
EXPERIENCE
- Total kitchen experience: 2–4 years in professional kitchens, with at least 1 year focusing on Asian cuisine.
- Previous role as a Commis Chef or equivalent in a fine dining restaurant, luxury hotel, or private residence specializing in Asian cuisine.
- Practical knowledge of Asian cooking techniques, flavor balancing, and authentic ingredients.
- Experience working in high-standard, fast-paced kitchens with a commitment to consistency and quality.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Culinary training or certification, ideally with a focus on Asian cuisine.
- Strong technical skills in preparation, cooking, and presentation of Asian dishes.
- Ability to follow direction, work independently on assigned tasks, and collaborate within a team.
- Keen eye for detail, creativity, and passion for Asian culinary traditions.
- Knowledge of food hygiene, kitchen safety, and health regulations.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
