Job description

GENERAL DUTIES
  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations, with a focus on Western cuisine.
  • Lead the preparation and execution of refined Western dishes, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation at all times.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a professional and efficient team environment.
  • Contribute to menu development, incorporating seasonal produce and premium ingredients into innovative, bespoke dishes.
  • Manage stock control, supplier relationships, and kitchen cost efficiency while minimizing waste.
  • Uphold and enforce the highest standards of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety.
  • Cover for the Head Chef during absences, ensuring smooth kitchen management and timely service delivery.
  • Collaborate with service teams to deliver a seamless dining experience tailored to client expectations.
EXPERIENCE
  • Total kitchen experience: 6–8 years, with at least 3 years specializing in Western cuisine.
  • Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef or Sous Chef in fine dining, luxury hotels, or private estates.
  • Strong expertise in classical and contemporary Western cooking methods, plating, and presentation.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate high-standard service in fast-paced or exclusive environments.
  • Experience in menu development, premium ingredient sourcing, and cost control.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Culinary degree or professional certification in Western cuisine preferred.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of Western culinary traditions and modern techniques.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Creativity and passion for crafting innovative, high-quality dishes.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining impeccable standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and international health regulations.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
